New to the Collection (July 2013)

“New to the Collection” is a new bi-weekly feature where I share what I have added to my own action figure/toy collection. For this first edition of ” New to the Collection”, I have recapped what I had acquired in the month of July!

In my local area, I frequently visit the Giant Robot Comics store in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Giant Robot Comics has great staff and it is an awesome store for getting new and older toys, as well as comics, games and other geek merchandise. Here is what I bought at Giant Robot Comics:

Four vintage Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on card by Playmates: Rocksteady, Baxter Stockman, Ray Fillet and Zak, The Neutrino!

A selection from the Kre-O Transformers Micro-Changers Collection 2: Scourge, Powerglide, Perceptor, Lugnut, Hardshell and Arcee!

I completed my set of Funko Pop Figures for the Masters of the Universe set: She-Ra, Hordak and Spikor! (I bought He-Man and Skeletor back in June.)

Lastly from Giant Robot Comics, I got The Long Ranger 6″ figure by NECA and Kaneda’s motorcycle from Akira by McFarlane Toys.

I purchased this next figure at Strange Adventures, Halifax, Nova Scotia. Another great comic book store that also offers other geek products, the award winning Strange Adventures has been around in the Atlantic Canada region since 1992. The MAFEX The Dark Knight Rises 6″ figure by Medicom Toys comes with interchangeable hands, a flight stand, an EMP Rifle and grapple gun accessories.

From my MattyCollector Masters of the Universe Classics subscription, my Octavia figure arrived!

From one trip to the Halifax Forum Flea Market, I bought from one seller a Marvel Legends Beast figure by Toy Biz. The figure was mint on card, but I opened it! One of my favorite Toy Biz Marvel Legend figures from that line.

From frequent trips to my local Walmart stores, I picked up the LEGO Lord of the Rings The Wizard Battle Set  (#79005)…

… and 3 of the 4 Star Wars: The Black Series 6″ figures of Wave 1 (Luke Skywalker, R2-D2 and Darth Maul)! These are great figures with that have lots of detail, multiple points of articulation and accessories. (I’m still hunting around for the Sandtrooper.)

Special thanks to my friends in the Birthday Club (Alma, Jeorge, TPV, Rona, U-E, Joy and Aurea) who got me a Giant Robot Comics gift card and my friends (Ciel, Julian and Carlos) who got me a Strange Adventures gift certificate for my birthday!

That’s it for now, friends! Happy toy hunting!
